There are a variety of different things that could be wrong if you notice that there is a problem with the license for SwSoft's Plesk in your server. The most common symptoms are as follows.
- You are unable to add new domains
- You are unable to add new email addresses.
- You are logged in to Plesk and you notice that your titlebar says 'PLSK00000000' where instead it should have your real Plesk license number.
- You have recently updated Plesk to a new full version number (ie 7.5 -> 8.3)
If you know that any of the above are true then here are a few things that you should try on your own.
- Login to Plesk and click on "Server" on the left hand side.
There will be an icon called "License Management", click on it.
Now within the Plesk License Management Interface there will be a button with an icon labeled "Retrieve Keys", go ahead and click this as well.
- If this does not appear to have solved your issue, it could be that your system time is incorrect. Please note that both your time and timezone must be correctly set. If you are using a Linux or UNIX system, run the command "date". Does it report incorrect time but the correct timezone? Then run the following command:
[root@ussr ~]# ntpdate time.service.softlayer.com
If the time zone is incorrect within a Linux system run the command:
5 Feb 14:28:02 ntpdate[15377]: step time server 10.0.77.54 offset 21609.439184 sectzselect
If you are using FreeBSD try the command:tzsetup
If you are using Windows Each of these commands will run you through the process of selecting your proper timezone - After you have verified/corrected your time, please restart Plesk on your system and try to login again.
- If your problems continue, you should take a look at the disk space in your system. Is it possible that you have run out of space on either / or on /usr? Please run the commands:
[root@ussr ~]# df -h;df -i
Verify that you have free disk space and free inodes available for use on your disk.
